> can lego ir port be used to transfer files?

hi. i have a laptop which has infrared port. i find it irrating to set up a laptop just to use the IrDa port and then keep it back. i found this lego mindstorms ir port which i was wondering if i can use it to transfer files from my pc to my t310. anyone has a clue?

Yep, should work fine. Mine's not a lego but a Bafo. All it came with was drivers, no software or anything and it works fine. You can download some free software like the SE Image Editor to use with it as well.

That's funny. If the disc came with the irda than they should be on there. Check the manufacturers website as well or do a google search for drivers.

Is it USB, serial, or internal. If it's USB then install the software on the disc first. Then plug it in and see if it finds it and installs it automatically.

Install the software, then power down, plug it in, power up and see if it is recongnized or if your OS finds it and pulls the drivers off of the disc automatically. Your OS may also have a driver in its database that may work for it. Have it search for one automatically.
