Hi a mate of mine has got a Photo Messaging from Orange two weeks ago, i was wondering if anyone new if the new phone SIMs come already MMS enabled?
I have a message i want to send her but not sure if she has the service on or not and if i asked her she wont probably have a clue.

if its a new phone should be set up for her
worst case is she will get a text msg with a pasword to log onto the orange website were she can view the msg anyway

The SIMs are all MMS-capable and the service is pre-enabled on all compatible new handsets. However, you need a GPRS data account to use MMS. For this to be activated, you can call Orange Fax & Data on 156.

No you don't, customers only require the MMS product to be active on the account - GPRS is included within this. The actual GPRS product is only used for WAP and Internet access.

Yes, you do require a GPRS data account, known, for example, as OrangeMMS. This is a data account, or profile. MMS is not a product - they are just messages. The transmission of them involves GPRS. So, therefore, I repeat, GPRS access needs to be switched on on your account before the service will work. No, you don't need a GPRS bundle, as MMS is charged per message, not per MB.

I'm telling you this now, as someone who provisions this stuff every day - Orange DOES NOT need to activate GPRS specifically on a customer's account - only MMS, which includes GPRS within that item.
All customers need is the correct settings on the phone and the MMS product on their account.
