What is this? Right next to the power button. Anybody know? Looks like a hole covered by a rubber piece, but what is it for? The first thought would be some memory card slot, but it doesnīt look wide enough fot that... Those who know, share!

IR port maybe?

Or possibly an opening for Memory Stick?

Hmm I think its to small to fit a Memory stick? The stick is longer than the p800 is wide!?

Haven't seen the link coz reading the forum on my t68, on the way to work. Could it be a slot to hold a stylus like the pocket pc pdas. Saw one photo of the P800 with one touching the screen so it does have one This post was posted from a T68

Itīs not for a stylus. The stylus is on the other side, snaps on flat to the side.
On another note, Sony has a new form factor for the MemoryStick, which is smaller. You could see it next to the prototype phone Sony Ericsson showed of a few months a go:

up and down similar to the one on the T68, but different...
i could be wrong, this is just a guess.

Perhaps the hole if for an earpiece adaptor or some other input device. The dial thingee MIGHT BE a jog dial which is common among Sony products like its Clie and notebook lines.

It looks like it might be a hole for some sort of wire that connects to the computer. The P800 has a built in digital still camera and I wouldn't be surprised if that port is for a serial or maybe even USB connection. I mean I could be wrong because if it retains the old ericsson designs it would use a datacable to download to a serial port. Just my two cents.
