I was wondering if there is a program or a feature to constantly remind me of missed calls or unread SMS's? Sometimes I leave my phone unattended and never bother looking at it....so instead, it would be nice if there's an alert every (let's say) 5-10 minutes warning me of missed calls or unread SMS's while I was away from the phone and returned without bother looking at the phone.

Doesn't logic say that if you hadn't heard the missed call to start with (because you're away from your phone) then you're just as unlikely to hear some reminder to the fact that you have a missed call?!!!
Anyway, to answer your question, I don't believe there is software to do this because it doesn't seem very logical, but it might just be that I've missed the point!

Do you ever use a voicemail system or answering machine? It's similar except that it reminds you that there are messages waiting.

I think what he is talking about is a constant 5 min reminer of a missed call/waiting sms. Before you think "why the hell do i want that", the Samsung T100 has that feature for SMS msgs, and my dad loves that feature most on his phone. If you do not read the message, the phoen will ping every 5mins or so, until you have read it. Since there are many times he leaves his desk, he doesnt have to keep looking at his phone everytime he returns to check if any SMS left.
Thats why whenever we urgently want to get throught to him, and he doesnt pick up the phone, we send a txt, as that reminer doesnt work for voicemail.

Well, i can see that alot of people would see a function like this as useless, but i actually think it sounds like a very good idea. Myself is also busy, and i dont want to have to check my phone every time i've been away from it for a while. It would be better to have a little sound every 5mins or so (interval should be configurable tho), especially regarding SMS'es. Tho, a feature like this must have been configurable, thus turning it on/off as you please, and under silent mode, it shouldnt make a noise ofcourse.

Guys, that's exactly what I was trying to explain. Sure glad i am not the only one. Anyway since this feature does not currently exist, is there a program to run in the background to contantly poll the missed calls or SMS memory area? Or can we have recurring alarm to run a check program for this?

I was looking for the exact same thing on my K7001. My old phone used to do this (A Motorola v525). Found this very useful. If, for some reason, I don't hear when a txt comes through, say if I'm in another room while the phone's on charge or whatever, unless I constantly check the phone everytime I come back, I don't know if I have a txt message waiting. Really miss this feature!! Be great if they could include this in a future firmware release? If there are any apps available, I'd be the first to use it!!
