Just had my third replacement handset (in three weeks - woo woo, quality product) and I've come across an odd thing in the email.

Basically, it tries searching for servers BEFORE it tries to connect - with inevitable results. This has only happened with this handset, has anyone seen this or know a fix?

It's software version R6A012

i thought its normal?
have you tried to input the server's ip address instead of url?
eg. pop.mailserver.com = 255.255.255.255

I did try that, to no avail. The problem is that it should be connecting to GPRS before it tries to send or receive mail, and it's doing it the other way around!

I may be totally off here but could it be because GPRS is 'Always on' so there is no need to connect as such?

'fraid you are. The T68i uses different GPRS accounts for WAP, email and suchlike, and the normal procedure is to connect, retrieve mail, then disconnect.

That's what it's doing - previously it connected first before doing anything else, which is how it should be (it can't send mail unless it's connected).

But now it just falls over every time!
