It is possible to insert smiley's in sms messages without going to the menu "insert". Just type : - ) or : - D (without the spaces) to see the smiley's.

I've searched on the forum but I can't seem to find a list of all the smiley's and how they can be written in plain text. Does anyone has such a list? Or any idea?

Thx.

Yes, but I was actually looking for a list of all the smiley's in plain text.

But anyway, I'll look it up myelf. I will send an SMS containing all the smiley's and send it to a friend. Then I can check his/her phone and see the smiley's in plain text. Just in case anyone wonders, If you send a smiley to a phone which doesn't have smiley's, the other phone wil just show the smiley in plain text. like : - ) or : - D (agian, without the spaces)

I'll post a list of the smiley's as soon as I got it.

I don't know the best way for showing this because I don't have pics of the smiley's on my PC. So I'm going to list them in the same orde they are in the menu "Insert object" --> "Smiley" (note: I don't really know if this is correct as I have the dutch language installed)

!! Remove the spaces (if I don't use spaces, the forum's smiley's will appear) !!

Watch out as these smiley's seem to be case sensitive!!!

1) : - ) --> Normal smiley
2) : - D --> Smiley laughin so hard you can see his teeth
3) : - ( --> Sad smiley
4) ; - ) --> Winking smiley
5) : - C --> "Cool smiley" with sunglasses
6) : - m --> Mad smiley
7) : - p --> Smiley sticking out his tongue
: . ( --> Crying smiley
9) : - | --> Don't care smiley
10) : - o (small "o" no zero) --> Surprised smiley
11) : - S --> Wondering smiley
12) : Y --> Thumb up
13) : N --> Thumb down
14) : 6 --> Devil
15) : B --> Glass of bear
16) [ : ] --> Robot face

I hope this helps anyone

So how do you type a ' : ' without having to go to the keyboard?
In fact, is there a place to see all those special characters like say '£' and such and how to type them instead of having to find them on the virtual keyboard?

Cheers!

If you use the (hardware) keyboard, touch the keys a few times to get other characters IE: Touch the "0 +" key 8 times to get the £ symbol. The : symbol would be 7 times key "1"

Concerning handwriting recognition I think there is no way of inserting other characters than the ones specified by SonyEricsson.
(Would be nice though, being able to make new characters for handwriting recognition like a : or £ )

Hope this helps
