Hi there,
I am searching for the option to lower the picture's size/resolution when sending it with MMS (I saw one in Nokia 3650), but I can't find it in P800. This function would be really usefull, so I don't have to retake a picture with lower quality/resolution, if I want to send it via MMS. I just found out that most other (non-P800 phones) have limited size of MMS messages (Nokia 3650 - 100kB, Panasonic GD 87 - 50kB). Is there perhaps some third party application, which would allow this?
Thank you.

not to mention the Nokia 6100/6610/7210/7250, which has a 30kb limit (!).. sucks.. i dont even look at those nokias as real mms capable phones.. simply because they arent..

Actually, the limit size in MMS (30k, 50k..) is not based on the phone software but by the network your on. Some network will accept to send a MMS of a max size of 30k, some other 50k....

It is true that some networks do limit the MMS size, but MOST of the phones out there are incapable of receiving larger MMS-s. If you want for exaple to receive a MMS containing 90KB of data - both, your network and your phone MUST support it.

I'm not sure that's an accurate statement. The t68i used to have an MMS file size limit of 50kb, upgrading it to r6a and above removed this limit. In the MMS request thread for PH users we have been regularly exchanging MMS messages with file sizes as high as 110 kb. This message was posted from a T68i

Try to use the Sony Ericsson MMS Home Studio 1.1.251 maybe it could help you.

The way to resize images is to add the image to the MMS, click on the image and select 'Edit Image' from the menu. Then in the image editor, choose the resize tool and (ever so slightly) make the image smaller. For some reason that chops it down to 6/7k fine for sending on most networks and to most handsets.

It's a bit weird, but works for me (R1D software revision)

Cheers

IT WORKS!! GREAT ADVICE!!

I was playing with it a bit and also found out that the picture size also changes if you draw a small dot on the picture, and return back to MMS. And what it's great about it is that it doesn't make any changes to the original photo.

THANKS ALOT!!

I would love to use MMS on UK Vodafone but I have yet to get it working. Has anyone successfully configured their P800 for MMS with Vodafone? If so could you please be knd enough to post the details here.

Thanks
