Hi,
I have searched and searched through every forum, but i cannot find a definitive answer to my problem. So lets put the record straight: Can I use a serial data cable with my t300? I have recently brought one (obviously meant for the t68) and cannot get my computer to recognise it, evn with phone monitor and other software. I contacted SE and they said that the t300 was never designed to be used with a data cable. Is this true? Or is there still a way i can use it?
Please reply with your thoughts!

I can understand that you are confused on this, there is indeed no definitive answer to be found. However, I searched this forum and others on the net and from that I can extract that a datacable can be connected between T300/T310 and a PC for MMS and pictures, BUT, SE does not provide/support synchronisation of the phonebook or sms messages between phone and computer.

So in effect you cannot transfer phonebook entries and sms! At least not what SonyEricsson is concerned. This is a serious mistake in my point of view...

But there appears to be a solution, one can buy a infrared adapter called MA-620 USB Infrared Adapter. This comes with software that supposed to handle the phonebook and sms issues (and more). However, I did not test this until now and perhaps somebody can support this claim?

Take a look at this link: http://www.matweb-01.com/

Hope this helps and somebody can give some experiences on this device.

Grtz,
Baas

Oh, in that case:
Go to the SE site!!!

SE site > Global Support > Choose your phone model and then it gives the available (software) downloads for your phone.

Easy!

ok dude i had these same problems trying to connect my t300 to the computer, you need:

package5_1_5_5
SE MyPictures
Christerssons Sendfile

the package file i obtained from a link somewhere on these forums, cant remember where, so have a search for "t300 data cable" and eventually you should find what you need. its a hefty 15mb file though. it includes the Mobile phone manager. once you have installed all that stuff, check that your t300 is recognised in the MPM in the control panel. it should try to synchronize the time between your computer and phone, and then "t300" will appear in the MPM window. then load up MyPictures, file menu, send file to phone, the progress bar will appear to let you know that your phone is connceted, load up sendfile, and then you can send anything you want to the phone. you can even backup (some) stuff with Christersssons backup...

hope all that helps

so what does it take to send stuff (namely pictures) from the phone to the computer, without having to pay for T-Zones service?
