I'm currently wondering what volume to choose for SMS messages and ringtones etc, and at some volumes, the speakers start sounding a bit hard pressed. Now, is there reason to worry about pumping up the volume? Or is there some safety features implemented in the P800 so it will never play a sound that would damage the speakers? Anyone knows what the deal is on this?

Cheers!

The loudspeaker can be damaged by too loud ringtones, actually some of the pre installed ones do make the speaker sound like a cracker jack, and there is no built in "safety thingy"...
Basically this means be gentle to it.
If you hear the speaker is stuggeling don't turn the volume up!

i wonder if a damaged speaker (caused by turning up the volume too much) will be under SE's warranty. Considering that there is no warning what-so-ever about "if you turn up the speakervolume too much, the speaker might get damaged" anywhere, nor is there a "max volume - sure you want this" warning.

You only have one speaker in your p800(apart from the one used when you are calling someone)....

one of the directors P900 has started making a distorted/crackling noice when someone rings him. its just out of warrenty, and its probably going to get a P910 or 9500 anyway.

has anyone else seen this?

I always play my music/video's/ringtones at full volume and my speaker has lived through 12 months. Even my water damaged P900 still worked fine, never had any issues with the speaker in it. Just wish it had more bass

I'd love more volume for my mp3 played as ringtones? Do u know any freeware that does that with the risk on distorting the song? 10x

Has there been any history of broken/damaged speakers on the P900/910?
