> t300 "up-fading" ringtones

Hi..
In my t300 the ringtones always fades up, even though I donīt have chosen that option.
When I upgraded to the latest firmware I mentioned this and the answer was that all the (polyphonic) ringtones are made "fading up"
But I have downloaded my own midi-files to it and I am shure, there ar no fades in them..
anyone???

They fade up so you wonīt damage your hearing if you should have phone against your ear when it rings.
The ringtones i make myself for my S55 i insert a second of silence at beginning of file, that helps a lot as the fading up takes place during the silent part anyway.

You mean the midi ringtone is low in volume first then up to normal volume after few seconds?? I think SE make this to protect your hearing, they don't want you place your ear to the earpeice and suddently a loud midi ringtone rings to hurt your hearing !!!

I feel lucky i donīt live in the US, i guess the phones are plastered with stickers about what you shouldnīt do with your phone and what could happen if you do it anyway
My guess is that the fading up shite is to avoid lawsuits from guys who went to too many AC/DC concerts and developed tinnitus and now wants to blame their phones and get a handful of $$

The fade-in really is for protecting your hearing. Imagine if you were making a call, but the YES keypress didn't register, then you hold the phone up against your ear, and a call comes in. The polyphonic ringtone comes out from the earpiece, and you will suffer hearing damage.
Nokia, Samsung, and the Siemens S55 don't have this fade-in because they have a separate speaker for the ringtones. Older Siemens phones use the earpiece for ringtone, eventhough they aren't polyphonic.

I want that damn fade in ringing removed, or at least made optional... Damn restrictions... Sometimes I can envy Europeans and Asians.. ugh. Everyone is suing anyone out here. Would not be surprised if someone tried suing me for the comment I've just made.
