Been seeing lots of fake/alien/compatible batts around, and considering how the original batts can be rather pricey, they can be pretty attractive. One thing, though, is the question of how they will affect the phone itself? Are they safe??

Better not use.. The T68 seems to be more advanced that most phones of late.. the wrong batter could play havoc with the internal circuitry...

The manual says if an alien battery is fitted then this will be displayed on the screen at it will be charged at a slow rate for safety reasons. Where have you seen these alien batteries? A new SE one costs £58 GBP!!

in all honesty every manufacturer states not to use other companies products and they do it for two reasons only! 1stly they want more of your money, so you buy an ericsson phone so they want you to buy ericsson accessories and 2ndly it covers their own backs, if you buy a dodgy 3rd party accessory and it fu*ks up ur phone its your own problem ericsson (like every other company) will only assure compatibility with their own products.

bjambean is correct. They want their piece of the accessory market, and why not. They are also fully covered if there is even a hint of the battery being at fault.
it doesn't mean that 3rd party batteries are all bad!

just wondering why you would another battery so soon anyway? If it's because you are outdoors for long periods maybe consider getting the compact charger that they sell
