I have set my p800 to vibrate all the time and silent mode is set to off.

The problem i am experiencing is that the phone will start to vibrate first then the phone will start to ring after about 5 seconds. I belive the phone should start to ring and vibrate at the same time.

Any one else experienced this?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I have set my phone the same as you have. And I also got the same problem. I think it's like with any phone that you got at home. You first here a click and then you can answer if you are fast without hearing it ring.
Don't know if this is fixable with the mobile. It's like the first signal never makes it ring, just "buzz".

I think this happens if you set increasing ring to be on! Do you have it turned on? If so it starts vibrating 1st then the ring starts and it gets louder until it reaches full volume or the caller hangs up.

If you don't want this uncheck increasing ring from phone/preferences/sounds and alerts menu.

it should now vibrate and ring at the same time and to the volume you set.

no, i think its a power management thing.

The phone takes an extra couple of seconds to access the memory and load the sound you chose for it to play, whilst it can call the vibrate function immediately.

When I have a flashy wav as my ringtone it does take slightly longer than if i have a boring standard tone.

I think that the first seconds go to acess the memory and find the contact if it is there. I have some setting I dont know have I chosen them or are these default but if I have recorded the name of the contact then before ringing the phone says the contacts recorded name.

I thought that the T68 just did this by default, it confused the hell out of me first time my T68i did it. It is a feature that you can choose on the P800

that has been a feature on nearly all ericssons with voice dialing. Very handy if you are driving with the handsfree, as you can often tell who is calling without looking at the phone.
