Hi Guys 'n Gals,
Hope someone can help with this...currently at my wit's end!!!!
I've spent 2 weeks trying to get email working on my p800 so could really do with your help and opinions / experiences.
Here's the situation :
I have a p800 which was originally an Orange contract phone - it's now unlocked and I'm using it with a PayG Orange Sim (also trying with 02 Payg sim).
I've tried email accounts with 02, Orange, Freeserve, Tiscali and never managed to successfully connect with the pop3 server using GPRS or Dialup.
I either get "No route available IPv6" or (more recently) "Activation rejected".
All email settings are correct as are the GPRS settings.
How many of you out there are using an unlocked p800 on either 02 Payg or Orange Payg that have actually got email access working over GPRS????
Help would REALLY be appreciated then hopefully one day I can help someone else solve this

)))
Cheers Guys!!!
Mike

This may seem insulting but you DO have GPRS setup on your account? Have you tried orange cust service on 07973100451 ?

email doesn't seem to work on WAP GPRS....it works perfectly on Internet GPRS...meaning where there is no cap or limit on download...
I'm not sure if that is it, but Ive never been able to download email on any of my WAP GPRS accounts (both Orange and O2).

Yes, that's the case - you can't use the OrangeWAP APN for anything but WAP. Interestingly, the built in browser on the P800 fetches web pages over WAP so it's no problem, however this won't work with Opera.
You can use the OrangeInternet APN for just about anything, but it costs more

Rob_B : Yes, I've spoken to Orange (about 10 times), 02 (maybe 3) and Ericsson (maybe 10 again).....just seem to keep going in a circle..no-one is able to figure it. Thanks.
Butterguy : Ok, thanks for the info!!
Bossjohn : Hmmm. Thanks!! I'm knew to this - can I use orangeinternet APN with a Pay as you GO SIM ?
Thanks for replies!

Yes you can. Check the link below for the correct settings...

Cheers again for the info BossJohn
Tried this but I'm still getting "activation rejected" trying email or web access. email provider is orange.net
I'm gonna roast someone on Orange customer services regarding this.
REALLY beginning to annoy.
Thanks again for taking the time to help!
I WILL sort this out ...

Hi there,
I've recently got a P800 on an Orange contract and I'm having exactly the same problem that is described here. Did you ever find a solution to it??
I haven't tried Orangeinternet yet, but I'd prefer to use Tiscali.
Any info will be appreciated...
Cheers

Hi,
The best thing I can suggest is call the Orange support line and ask to speak to the Data team. You should have no problems at all with a contract handset. They'll sort it out for you.
If not, post here again and I'll have a look for ya.
See ya,
Mike

OK, hands up. Mine was a really stupid question!!!
As soon as I posted it, I'd noticed that it was asking me for a login name and password.
I then realised that I hadn't actually gone onto the Tipic website and registered as a user.........
Zero common sense points for me....
Thanks anyway!!!
