does anyone know if is is possible the online banking with p800? i've tried both opera and p800 browser with my bank's online banking service and no success! when i'm using it at my computer, i had first to download java virtual machine (java vm); with P800 the best result was this message: "java script page" and nothing happened!

. is there any plugin or javascript module available, or what do you think i should do before i'll totally drop the idea of online banking over the p800?
thx!

You should contact your internet banking help desk and see if the support PDA's and smart phones. Though It may not be as secure as you would like on your p800, if they dont support it??
The e-bank help desk should be able to tell if it is possible though. I know that with HSBC it is possible.
If they require you to download something first then that would be a windows download I suspect and would not be compatible with the p800.

thanks epscilon! i asked the wankers from the helpdesk and they said they are only supporting IE and Netscape and not PDA or whatever tool i might want to use! "it is not safe and we can not guarantee the security of your transactions"; fair enough!

How can I get onto my HSBC internet banking through my P800? Is there a special address to go to? I couldn't find one listed on the HSBC site.
ta.

Strange you had to download java to get it to work on your pc. A java vm runs java not javascript, the 2 are completely different, i guess the p800 doesnt support java applets. Personally i wouldnt touch internet banking with a 10ft pole, however secure they may say it is, no data is secure on the internet.

As a last resort you could perhaps try to use a VNC connection to your home computer and make a transaction from there...

Try using Opera (if you're not already). I know that the standard browser pulls pages over WAP which might have some effect.

this problem has something to do with encryption. most banks require more than 128 bits of encryption that IE and Netscape is capable, but most browsers especially mobile browsers are limited to 128 bits.
i use HSBC Online all the time on my PC, and it does not work on my PDA due to that.
