So heres my list of things to fix yet I don't know how:

1) The email seems sporatic. Sometimes I'll get an email right away while other times I'll check my email on my computer, get a message, wait 4 hours for the P800 to get it, then when I actually go and tell it to check the mail (its supposedly doing it automatically every 15 minutes) THEN it sees it. Geez... Often I'll check the information of the GPRS settings and it will say 0kB sent and received for that connection. What is it doing exactly? I tell it to check manually and then all of a sudden it can d/l stuff. WTF?

2) The light seems to turn on for the most random reasons. First it turns on every time GPRS gets activated to check the mail. (which is often unsuccessful, though it won't tell me so). But often it just rurns on for the hell of it when the phone is just sitting there. Grrrr..

3) The GPRS sometimes just turns on for no good reason..or so it seems. Like I said before, i'll check the status and it'll say that its sent and received 0kB for that session. WHY are you connected then? It DOES have a good signal BTW.

4) The battery life seems to be getting worse and worse. Pathetic. 8 hours of standby I'm running now. I'm going to try to uninstall Tracker to see if that does it but Im sure this GPRS and light issue are also culprits.

If anyone has any ideas...please help me. I'm about to send this thing to SE and bitch about it.

seems like you have a problem with gprs, it might be your carriers fault. here in the philippines gprs access is sporadic at best. This message was posted from a P800

Obvious answer is it's not checking every 15 minutes. Network support issue?

Sure it's not random - it will turn on when GPRS is activated but when the phone is dormant and in power-saving mode, it shouldn't come in. If it does, it's a fault.

3) The GPRS sometimes just turns on for no good reason..or so it seems. Like I said before, i'll check the status and it'll say that its sent and received 0kB for that session. WHY are you connected then? It DOES have a good signal BTW.

Mate, you said you've set it to check your email every 15 minutes and now you're surprised it comes on for no good reason? If it checks but there is nowt to download, it will display zero sent/received.

Had the same thing - uninstalled tracker and pretty much all the useless crap I didn't really need and improvement is amazing.

But shouldn't I be able to check email every 15 minutes...or more? Danger Hiptops can check email like every 2 minutes and their battery life is about 1.5-2 days. And this is on MY network, Tmobile. So it makes no sense.

2) The light seems to turn on for the most random reasons.

Sure it's not random - it will turn on when GPRS is activated but when the phone is dormant and in power-saving mode, it shouldn't come in. If it does, it's a fault.

Its turning on more often than once every 15 minutes. This much I know.

3) The GPRS sometimes just turns on for no good reason..

Mate, you said you've set it to check your email every 15 minutes and now you're surprised it comes on for no good reason? If it checks but there is nowt to download, it will display zero sent/received.

No. First its doing it more often than once every 15 minutes. Second, even IF there are no emails to d/l, you will still have to send/receive some data. Otherwise you couldn't ask for the emails and the server couldn't tell you there weren't any. Usually this is on the order of less than 1 kB.

4) The battery life seems to be getting worse and worse.

I just tried moving Tracker to the memory card to see if that will help. If that doesn't help I'll uninstall completely until this fixes it.
