> Outgoing caller id (clip) on a T68i with R2A

I am new here so maybe I need to learn a bit, but I have now spent several hours searching the forums here and cannot find any clear answer for this. If anyone has seen a posted answer a link would be great!
I bought a T68i for my girlfriend and we can't find a menu point anywhere to switch on the outgoing caller-id (callerid, CLIP). We can do it call by call, of course, and for my T68m it always worked so I never worried about it.
I have tried the network codes directly (*31#, and #31#) but I always get an ERROR, while the query code, *#31# does respond.
Our old 6210s (we both have them) worked great in this respect. She could set the outgoing caller ID to on, and it would always be sent.
Any answers out there?

Proper codes, as far as I remember, are **31# and ##31#. If u want your ID to be shown by default, call your operator and tell them to do it for you.

MKT, you are right about the codes. GSM standard says **X# to activate, ##X# to deactivate, and *#X# to query status. For CLIP (outgoing caller id) the code (X) = 31
Her old phone, Nokia 6210, had the menu setting and it worked (still works) great.
When I try *#31# on my phone it says "Outgoing number activated", on her phone it says "Own number restriction active".
It becomes clear that the network is restricting the number.
Unfortunately, **31# and ##31# both always return "Not successful".
What bugs me is that other, older, phones (Nokia and Samsung) have menu points that allow the phone to permanently override the network setting, but I have not been able to find such a setting on the T68.
Does anyone know if such a menu point exists on the T68i? The phone has R2B, it will be upgraded within a few days. Maybe a newer version has it?
(She is on the phone to the network provider right now trying to correct the problem, but I'd still like to know if the T68i can do it)

There is no way to change the default setting throught the phone, only uniquely per call by pressing the option key.
It sounds like her service provider has switched it off or something similar and they should be able to restore it.

She just called me and it now works, thanks to a call to T-Mobile Germany.
I still don't get it though. Does the 6210 (and all those other old pohones) actually add the *31# to every call to activate the function, or does it send a general network request other than **31#?
and does this mean the the T68I cannot do something the 6210 can?
