It happens a lot, that if I delete an item (a theme, a sound, a picture or a mms), the free memory doesn't change.

Here a few examples:

a few weeks ago I had this situation:

Free: 57 kb
My sounds: 8 kb
My pictures: 248 kb
Themes: 55 kb
MMS inbox: 74 kb
MMS unsent: 0B
MMS sent: 134 kb
MMS templates: 57 Kb

-> that is a total of 633 kb.

Then I delete a few things:

Free: 88 kb
My sounds: 8 kb
My pictures: 203 kb
Themes: 55 kb
MMS inbox: 59 kb
MMS unsent: 0B
MMS sent: 0B
MMS templates: 32 Kb

-> that is a total of 445 kb.

For the moment I have this situation:

Free: 54 kb
My sounds: 8 kb
My pictures: 195 kb
Themes: 55 kb
MMS inbox: 59 kb
MMS unsent: 0B
MMS sent: 0B
MMS templates: 32 Kb

-> that is a total of 403 kb.

It seems that the more I use the phone, the more memory dissepears...

My phone is just back from beeing repaired (1 day afther I bought the phone, the joystick didn't work anymore)
What can I do? I mailed already 6 times to sonyericsson support, but they always send the same sentence!
"You should contact our mechanical servicepoints for this situation." "Please contact us for the nearest adres"
I mailed back my adres, and they mailed the same sentence again!!

Pff, I didn't have so much problems with my nokia phone...
(and I didn't even told you the problems I had with the software of sonyericsson!)

Sounds like some kind of fragmentation problem in the memory.
Anyone who knows ?

If items u tried to remove were where the ones that came with ur phone when u bougt it, then its normal. Whenever i delete predefined item, lets say 5kb large, my pics in memory status are 5kb smaller but free memory doesnt increase-this way when all items are added its easy to think that total memory shrinked. Im on R6A but im almost sure that with R2E it was little different This message was posted from a T68i

I didn't do a master reset yet...
Is this helping? Will it still happen afther I do the reset?

It didn't only happen when I deleted the items that were on the phone. Alsof when I deleted pic's that I downloaded from the computer.

A total of 400 and a bit kb is not much, isn't it?

I'm backing up all my memory to do the master reset.
I don't understand what It means to "push the master reset buttom"

I go to the menu settings -> master reset -> reset all
when it is done, I need to remove the battery for 13 sec?

Is this correct?

Thanx!

nope, perform the master reset and 13 seconds after the reset starts pull out the battery. It should still be reseting when you remove the battery.

Regards,

Phil.
