Why is it that sometimes after syncronisation both sides that is phone and PC tend to have duplicate calendar entries and contacts. What is even more peculiar not all contacts are duplicate some strange selection I cant understand. Does anyone know how to avoid it and what is the best way to get rid of such duplicate values. I once tried sync two times at a time and result was three identical calendar and task entries. Awful

you should check first the "conflict resolution" under sync station settings (see the small blue p800 in your task bar on your pc - right click on it); i think that you have right now checked the "add conflicting items to both phone and computer"; uncheck this one and check the one that suits well , either keep items in phone override computer or the other way arround; hope this helps!

I'm having the same problem and I have set up my sync station settings to only copy from Outlook to the phone?

Any other ideas? I now have four copies of some contacts and I've pretty much given up on syncing.

I'll try that I even found it out myself. Strange thing is that I had the conflicting to unsolve but when syncing then sometimes it syncs OK and sometimes it started to duplicate contacts and calendar. But I'll try now to keep the phone primary. we'll see how does it go

Sorry to dig up old threads guys, but hopefully someone may be able to help now as this is still unsolved!

I've got the same prob, in conflict resolution the "select last changed item" is checked and I still have double entries, for example, i i deleat something in outlook, i sync and it still is on my phone! I think i works fine the other way (phone to pc)

Hope someone has the answer

Digging again.. has ANYONE found the problem to this?

My settings are already to select the last changed item but sometimes it'll keep duplicating entries in my calendar and when I delete them through outlook and sync... four of the same will show up again! Even with full synchronization I get a lot of dupes.

I've just upgraded my sync software and firmware through sonyericsson. I'm running Office XP 2003.

Someone please help.

unfortunately I think it´s one of the mysteries that are never going to be resolved; I´m syncing for a year or so, old and new syncsoft, updated recently my outlook, nevertheless, there are still strange things going on on synchronisation.. I added also some sync with my web-provider and - guess -what - double contacts, whether I sync by phone or pc..

use filters in outlook, get rid of the doubles, and flash your calendar from time to time (guess it has been casually explained here)

I find calendar entries deleted on PC do not delete on the phone. Only way I've found is to do a full synch, overwriting the phone from outlook.

try installing the updated PC Suite from the SE website as it is supposed to have resolved the double entry bug. download is over 35 MB tho so if you're not on broadband, patience would help.

I had same duplicate entries problem with Outlook 2000 and all latest version of office, pcsuite 3.1.1 and firmware.
The solution : I moved to Outlook XP 2002 SP3! And I works out of the box .. Amazing ?!?
( First you need to do a full synch from pc to phone
and then you can chose to get the last modification in case of conflicts .. all works perfectly with Outlook XP 2002 )
