Hi!
I have found a user-friendly way to convert my *.amr to wave files without having to open MS-DOS windows and typing. There is Mobile AMR converter from www.miksoft.8m.com . It is using the Sony Ericsson AMR converter but it has got a windows interface so you dont have to type anything, just selecting the input (amr) and the output file (wave) or vice-versa. It is useful when you want to convert a note you record with your phone to wave or convert an audio file to send it to your phone.

just cpnvert MP3 to WAV and cpnvert the WAV to AMR!!!! use headset! DONE! u can store up to 2-6 MP3's!

I mean, what's the point of listening to music at very, VERY bad quality?

Second of all, I've tried this process, and it's really time consuming (MP3 to WAV, and then WAV 44,000Mhz to 8000Mhz 16bit mono, and then WAV to AMR!!! I prefer to take the dog out for 6 walks than this!).

Then, with such bad quality you end up with after the conversion, it would be the same if you placed your phone next to a speaker and recorded a song in real-time, through the mobile's recorder. Trust me, there is no difference in quality, plus that in this way you don't have to download software, or switch on your computer, or even own a computer!

Finally, even if the sound quality was acceptable, wouldn't it be stupid to put the phone on your ear every time you wanna listen to music? And don't mention to me handsfree, because I don't use it! And I wouldn't go and buy a pair just to listen to bad quality music! After all, IT IS A VERY BIG WASTE for the mobile's speaker to be able to play out loud only polyphonic sounds, and NOT recorded sounds/music (The one's that make this possible, are the mobiles which lack in other important features, or the really chunky and expensive one's, like P800 and 7650).

Don't waste your time! Buy a a portable MP3 player and enjoy proper sound quality. Or even better, if you have a mobile with Bluetooth, buy the new Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Music Handsfree MP3 player (HBM-30), which cooperates with you mobile without any cables!
