I am just wondering, how many of you and how OFTEN you get the warning triangle asking you to hold down the power button for 10 seconds and reset the phone.
i got mine 2 times now since i have owned the phone which is coming close to one month now.

I don't know when or why this happen, but it happened three times when I was at this party far out in nowhere with almost no chance of making a call. Plus I kept it in my pocket all the time. Hope someone got a clue.

the 'triangle of death' happens when a program
tries to do something that SE never anticipated in the P800.
The best example i can think of is a divide by zero error
on the pc. This is more prevalent with 3rd party apps
that SE never got to test thorougly with the P800.

I have had it more then 4 times since I own the P800. I did not purchase the Orange SPV because I did not like the idea of using a phone with microsoft OS. I thought the symbian OS was more stable. Unfortunately this was not a correct assumption in my case.
Cheers,
Koen

What people fail to remember when blaming the Symbian OS for crashes is that half the time it isnt the OS's fault ! Symbian is actually a very stable OS. Its just that when you start adding beta version, and badly coded software packages to the phone that problems start occurring. I've not had a single crash on my P800 that hasnt been caused by removing the last bit of software I installed.

Lucky you. I would say I get it
at least once a week, sometimes more.
I mostly get it whilst composing a text, dunno if I'm trying to write too fast for the poor P800s JotPro to handle.

actually koen, the spv hangs a lot more than the p800.
so i'm happy with my choice.
and the spv doesnt come with an mmc!! even the SL45
gave me a 32mb mmc.
and i really dont like the back case of the spv,
too plasticky and kinda cheap looking.
i can live with 'triangles of death' as long as they dont
happen too often. the other features of the p800 more
than make up for it.
i have only one gripe re: the p800...
why the heck are Memstick DUOs so darn expensive???
proprietary hardware sucks.

mine can crash once a week or like last night 3-4 times in under 30mins.. it all depends on how fast i try to write sms'es in flip-closed mode..

@bidz
Flip closed? hmmm I've been ok so far with closed mode.
I only seem to get problems in flip open mode using handwriting recognition, get two lines written, then it all starts to fade away (looks like when you shake an etch-a-sketch) and you know the triangle of death is on it's way

Mine has crashed around 6-8 times and I've had this phone for almost a month. The first time it crashed I was trying to highlight > copy a phone number in the contacts (this was under R1A or R1D)
Two times it crashed while my phone was in the case that was included in the package and I had the keypad facing up and the keypad was locked (so your guess is as good as mine as to why it crashed)
My p800 has crashed 2-3 times under R2D (granted I have a few 3rd party apps installed)
I think it crashed one time while I was trying to compose a very long email in yahoo using p800's internet browser (under R2D I believe)
The other times were miscellaneous
I still love the phone overall
