I have a city map in .pdb format. Is there any software (freeware) which can open it? If yes, where do I have to put the file? To the pictures folder?

PDB files are the standard Database file format for the PalmOS. I dunno if its proprietary or not, but since it is very tied to the PalmOS architecture, it may not be meaningfull to convert it to display to another system like the p800

I downloaded mobipocket reader and was able to download palm .pdb files to my ms duo and read them. In fact, I have all four harry potter novels and I have no problems reading them. They were originally meant for viewing on a palm device but I have no problem reading them using mobipocket reader.

PDB file extention is the generic non application palm file extention (PRC being the application extention).
PDB files can come in many formats. the extension will not tell you what format it is. Eg:
DOC: This is a palmreader format file, these can now be read in many platforms including p800's (with MobiPocket reader) but they have .Pdb extension
Jfile: Database format that can be read by jfile programs in desktop and in palm and ppc devices (also uses pdb extension on pc)
etc..
What you must do is see what app the pdb was made for, then go to the app and see what format it uses. If it is DOC (AKA palmDoc) then you can use mobipocket reader to read this on your P800
otherwise manyapps can convert to/fro other formats.

Thank you guys. When I look for the properties of the pdb file it says nothing about whether it is doc or jfile etc. And with mobipocket I couldn't open it. It's a picture (city map) they put online for palms for the city of Zurich (www.zvv.ch) . Since I can't open it this way I could just download a map in jpg or gif format. But the gif picture is 700kB and the installed SE picture viewer doesn't show the details. It can't display the map at 100%. Actually all I would need is a picture viewer program which can display large (700KB) files at 100% (of course with scrolling). But I don't know of such a program yet.
