Certain programs/applications drain the battery very very fast.

I recommend you install a program like Tracker or Switcher, and always close applications you are not using.

Communicam, Acetris (Tetris clone), and Handy Day are all prime culprits.

I accidently left Acetris running, phone was dead within a few hours.

The battery improves day by day..... I had the same problem when i bought my P800 but after a few charges the battery got better and it can last up to 3-4 days

They say that you should charge and empty the battery completly about 10 times before it's working at maximum. This applies to all new batteries they use in phones these days. Or so I heard from a tech. Though they don't loose battery life the way the older ones did.

Active desk also drains the battery and so does tracker. Ever since I started using it, it has used more battery. With tracker you put Shortcuts to up to 50 programs and have a nice background picture. I think you can also close programs with it and free memor, but I am not sure. I use System Manager to close programs which never close to free up memory.

the need 2 drain a p800's batt b4 charging is a myth. lithium-polymer batts do not require you 2 drain them b4 charging. the discharge-recharge procedure applies 2 older batts This message was posted from a P800

Correct, but they improve performance over time, they are only at an optimum level after a few charges.

As for Tracker.... I have seen no adverse battery drain effects.
Handy Day was a nightmare, excellent app, but drained battery very fast.

I use handy day, and my battery seems to last a fair while, I haven't been using it a lot over the last few days, but the battery seems to be lasting 2-3 days under my 'normal' usage, with Handy Day running. Batteries to seem to be a law unto themselves when it comes to these things...
