I was bored with my ringtones and wanted to have some cool music instead. So I have converted a CD file using damp music converter (http://download.com.com/3001-2140-10125657.html) to a wav file. I then opened this up with wave corrector. This is normally for converting vinyl or tape, but I used it to cut the wav done to 2,000KB or so. I then transferred this to my P800 and now have a cool ring tone. (http://www.wavecor.co.uk/)

Used the trial version of wave corrector and therefore can only work with the first two minutes of the song. After cutting can only use the first cut, but taking these limitations into account, still have wicked ring!!!

Hopes this make sense.

I searched this and other forums for some info on how to convert my cd tunes into ring tones and didn't find very much.
Did I take the long way around? Is there an easier way to do this?

Normally, ringtones only last 20 seconds when being called. If done correctly, you can cut that .wav file to around 900kb for a 20 sec tone.
