Article from thefeature.com (a Nokia service)

T-Mobile this week announced it was delaying the scheduled summer release of its Microsoft Smartphone-powered handset due to quality issues, with one spokesman telling Dow Jones the handset "is not of the quality we expect." Similar issues have dogged the first Smartphone device, the Orange SPV, of which the T-Mobile device is an updated version. Earlier, Reuters had reported T-Mobile was dropping plans to launch the device altogether, which would have left Orange as the only global carrier supporting Smartphone devices. Still, the delay will come as quite a blow to Microsoft, reinforcing some industry notions that the Smartphone OS isn't quite yet up to snuff.

I wonder if smart has been receiving complaints about the spv. apart from the frequent hangs, peole say u need to delete sms entries one by one from the message base, you cant tick them for mass deletion like the p800. ms doesnt have the mobile mindset in place yet not like symbian. Here in Portugal it was also annouced the launch of a MS Smartphone device for the next month from one of our carriers, TMN in this case. It's an AEG handset that looks very similar to the Orange SPV. Anyway, MS must be desperate to launch their smartphones since Steve Balmer was in this presentation, and Portugal is not such a big market for them to worry about. @jazzbo, messages can be deleted all at once using "Empty Folder" option. Well, the manual sucks that's why most users don't notice.

I've had mine replaced because of the inconsistencies in the way the Action button responds (think of the Action button as the Enter key).

In my case the phone does not hang (what most users perceive). When memory is used to the max, the system does its automatic maintenance sooner than later and that takes time, causing the user to say it "hangs." If you wait (and most users don't as they turn off the phone) then it will be able to finish its job and get back to normal.

regarding the delete all messages option, go to handango.com they have the solution for it or you can do it using your computer. their download will also take care of the problem re sending datas, and pictures thru infrared. the only problem i see with the smartphone is the lack of blue tooth, other than that the phone is not bad.
