> Why is nokia so big???

I'm at a loss to know why nokia has so much of the mobile phone market, compared to SE or motorola or anybody else!
I'm doing some research into this matter.
Considering Nokia's first phone was in 1992 - thats about 5 years after ericsson produced their first mobile phone, it dosen't make sence?
What did nokia do right, that everyone else didn't?
In nearly every example i can see, it was another company that first put a certain feature into a mobile phone, and then nokia copied.
Any of your ideas would be appreciated.

its because nokia are very good at marketing where as all of the other companys are very poor at it plus and nokia gave and still does give people what they want inexpensive easy to use phones.

Nokia is like Toyota, they are good at marketing their products despite all their product's shortcomings. They can camouflage their product's shortcomings. Also, they come up with new models every 3 or 6 months.

probably because nokia phones has a more stylish design (imo), lots of models to choose from, easier to use, usually lighter than equivalent phones of other manufacturers and it's not who implemented a cool feature first, it's who implements it best (just think of microsoft ;)

well im sorry but nokia will never beat the sleek curves of the T68i. as all there phones are starting to get ugly as f**k.
i liked there phones when they had the universal "navi key" for those who dont know what i mean its the 1 button that does all the stuff (ans call end call menu button select button)
but when there DT-4 phones came out they started looking square and gay

nokia phones that i like would get if they had the fetures my T68i had
i had 2 of these both died 1 went under a car and 1 went canuing with me and fell in
i wanted this or the 8310 but the T68i was more appealing
will be expencive but will sell like hotcakes cos its the first gamers phone

SE will NEVER sell more phones than Nokia within a year and that is fact! SE produced the t68i in only one colour, possibly the worst colours they could have chosen. However if Nokia had released the same phone, they would have probably put better colours on or given the user the choice of x press ons. In the psychology of it all, people love to customise things to make it their own, try to give out a little of their personality in anything they can. A Nokia phone would allow a user to do this unlike an SE.
Not only that, Nokias menu system is extremley simple to use, unlike Ericssons and Sonys in early years, especially with the use of their Navi key in early days. This gave them a more user friendly aspect to their phones. Now SE has formed, yeh the menu system is ok but it has no reputation behing it when compared to Nokia.
As someone also said before Nokias designing their phones in new and innovative ways. While this may not be appealing to everyone right now it is going to pay off to them in the future when they can see hat is working and whats not.
Again also as someone said before the marketing of Nokia is much better than SE. How many of you have seen an advert on TV for SE. In the UK I have never seen 1. However Nokia on occassion do produce some as well putting a lot more adverts into newspapers and magazines etc.
SE hasn't the money to be a big player and therefore wont be. Nokia can afford to be bold which is maybe what people out there are after. For me I can say all of SEs phones are too dull in their design, I like Nokias for the boldness of their looks however their just aren't enough features in their phones.

Design taste is of course personal, but I can't see how people like the design of the 7250. It looks like a plastic toy, like a toy phone you can buy from Toys'R'Us for about $5.
There isn't any reason for buying the 7250 IMHO. If you want a small featurepacked phone, you should go for the T610. If you want a colour phone with a good screen you should get a Samsung, Panasonic or T610.
The only reason is if you want a plastic kids phone and want to pay through your nose for an inferior phone. It's at best an average phone with a high price tag.
