Got the t68i today, which actually looked nice, and could NOT believe my eyes when I saw the childish, stupid T67-lookalike blinking green light that couldn't be turned off.
There is fortunately one easy way of getting rid of the madness without interfering with warranty (I believe - do this on your own risk).
1) Visit a bookstore
2) Buy a serious black marker pen
3) Have a ball and a good night's sleep with your phone close to you
A second solution is of course to buy some black model aircraft-paint at your local hobby store.
It's ridiculous that cellphones have been around for 10 years and we have to treat them with paint to get them to be useful, but whatever.
And to Ericsson: GET A LIFE! I am having a Nokia next time.

Hmmm I guess you're not a big fan of the green light then. I think its a very useful thing to have on a phone, you can tell just buy looking at the phone itself and not the screen if you have a signal

@zten, i also believe you were unaware this is a signal indicator, very usefull when in car at night to know you have a signal.

Yup! I actually find it pathetic that Nokia can't provide us with this useful feature.

it also shows if you have a new sms message
it also shows your charging status... in off-mode...when charging it is red, when it is fully charged the red light will turn off, in on-mode...its not blinking but once charged, will again "blink"
very useful to me...
and yes it also shows if you have a signal...even in the dark

I like the green blinking thing in my t68i bec. if you left your phone in a dark room still you can find it bec of the green blinking. Ang also it makes your phone unique bec of that unlike other cellphones like nokia doesnt have any blinking model

Well I agree with the OP. I find the light annoying. I would prefer it if it was used to show exceptional conditions only (like, an SMS was received, the phone has no signal) rather than indicating normal operation. It's annoying in the cinema where it's dark; I don't want this green flashing light that I can see through my pants pocket.
