> R520/T39 update for SyncML and 4+1 GPRS?
Bookmark topic
There is a press release from last May stating that there is an upgrade pending for both R520 and T39. This update will add SyncML function to the phone and will support 4+1 GPRS time slots. It's still to bee seen on ///'s homepage:
http://www.ericsson.com/infocenter/news/upgrade.html
Does anybody have an idea whether this is still up to date information, or has it quietly been cancelled?

I think the 4+1 GPRS is a false information. As I hear from a radio engeneer from ericsson a duplex filter is necessary for this. The phone is too small for this!

@ Fulika
If it's a false info, why doesn't /// draw back its press release?

I don't know. I heard this from an E/// engeneer. The other thing: the t68i hasn't got 4+1 in GPRS mode (and only 2+1 in HSCSD). He it's only a software, why?

hmm i got about 4k max download on my t39 (same as my t68) and thats aproximately what 4+1 can do on a class 3 encoded network 43kbps (max on 4+1 is 63kbps but the tech docs for t68i states this is not availible in any live network yet)

No SE phone has 4+1 gprs yet and I do think that it is only a software upgrade which will enable it. There are rumors around that 4+1 upgrade will be available for t65, too.
