Hi guys,

Is there space under the joystick on the T610 for dust to get in or have sorted that out?

My T68 screen is covered in dust, drives me mad but I don't want to open it up so that I can remove the dust. And anyway I'll be getting the T610 soon ...

don't have any dust problems yet. but have the phone just for 2 days. would not recommend to open the phone. did that with my t300 and all i got was even more dust.

what you could try is a good old ipaq trick (those things got dust under the screen quite often). use a vacuum cleaner and try to get out the dust with that - probably by pointing on the joystick area once the dust gets in from there. but take care not to vacuum in your whole phone

Take your T68 to a service centre. They'll clean it out for you while you wait.

Hmmm do u think the vacuum cleaner might damage the phone somehow? I haven't tried it yet, but am tempted to since i have HEAPS of dust under my T68i screen. This message was posted from a T68i

Try using a swab stick, vaccum cleaner or better yet a small fine paint brush.

take it in for a software upgrade, and while they are doing that they can clean the phone out for you. my T68 was VERY bad, and they cleaned it like new in just a few minutes.

I would NOT use a vacuum cleaner! It may very well damage the electronics inside the phone.
I've damaged a graphics board once on a computer when trying to vacuum the inside of the computer after a similar tip from a friend... So I've learnt it the hard way!

Go to a service point or similar and get them to do a firmware upgrade as suggested above, and ask nicely if they could just remove the dust under the screen whilst they're at it! Always works for me here in Sweden and also when I've done it at CPW in the U.K.

Where can you find a list of service centers?

The last time I looked was about a year ago and there were no service centers at all in Ireland. There was a link to "Dealer Locator" under the Support menu on the website, however the link is not there now.

I dont have dust under the T610 yet but I think dust will get in very soon. First the area under the joystick is about the same as the T68 and secondly, the ear piece hole is kind of big and there is nothing under that hole like the T68.
