I'm going to sound stupid I know, but...
where are the SE service centre's in the UK? Are they specialised SE stores, in which case I haven't seen any. Or are they shops like Orange, carphone warehouse, The link, etc. that are authorised to do work on behalf of SE?

it depends where you are you see.
i knwo the carephone warehouse in coventry and the one at the fort shoping centre are both nokia and SE service centres. the best bet is to have a look on the SE website and see where the closest ones to you are

P.s. They seem to have updated their site, still no T610 available yet though

There's MPRC in Stoke-on-trent area,will post # if ur interested,they usually take about 45 minutes! He! He! (And theres a recycle bin full of nokia's) lol :-D

It seems that if you only replace the country designator (say, uk with de) it points you to the respective country search page. I am able to pull US SE dealers...
