I wish the option to auto send SMSs that are in my outobx (that I composed with no network available) would send once I'm back on the network. Perhaps, if saved within the past 3 hours....then send once back on again.

Why would it?
The Outbox contains unsent SMS.
The Sent items contains successfully sent SMS.
Why would the P800 resend the last 5 successful SMS you sent?????

It's a great idea. Email SE about it as a suggestion.
@701
No it will not. Since it has already been sent and is then located in "sent" and not in "outbox".

Not such a good idea in all cases actually...
There has been times when i send out a message, only to be told "SMS Send Failed", then minuites later i get a delivery report saying the "failed" message was successfully delivered (i use the *0# trick for getting reports).
This seems to happen when i am in "questionable" on/off reception area. Happens quite rarely with my T-Mobile ocntract, but VERY frequently on O2 (get a failure, when actually its sent).
Now had those messages stayed in the outbox, the phone would continously try and send them again, possiblly again in a questionable reception area, and again reporting as failed, when its got sent... annoying for the personwhom i am sending to, and annoying for me when i see my bill!

Yeah, fair point.
But I think the good would far outweigh the bad if this were at least an option.
Retry SMS: Number of attempts: Time between attempts
If these were options, it would work fab.
