> T68i has more memory than T610!
Bookmark topic
Are you amazed?
I took a 4Kb picture and sent it to my T610 and saw 36Kb of memory vanish from my T610.
I sent the same picture to my T68i and i saw only 12Kb of memory vanish.
Thus, if all the memory is to be allocated to pictures, i conclude that the effective memory of T610 is 666Kb as compared to 1000kb in the t68i.
DO the math !!!!!!
Note that if i go to my T610 and check the picture info i would get the 4 Kb however, when i attempt to delete the picture, the T610 say
Blah.jpg
[36Kb]
Delete ?
and once i complete the deletion,
i see 36 kb gained.
NEVERTHELESS, i LOVE MY T610 LOVE IT LOVE IT
i have a portable so i can always back things up and fro to free memory,
(please if anyone has the original java and mpohun games on the t610, please email them to me on
ziadnawfal@hotmail.com)
i need a backup to keep on my PC to free some memory from my phone
thanks

Maybe the t610 is trying to take up more mem because it thinks that the picture has more colors than the t68i bothers to think about. Just a quick question, 666kb free with predefined items or without?

I think that this is because the T68i says the file isn't that big, but actually it takes more memory...
When u check the total memory, you see that it decreases more than the filsize.
With the T610, they give that real picturesize...

Both phones store an uncompressed version of the image as well as the compressed original, for fast displaying. The t610 has a bigger and more colorful display, hence its uncompressed images use up more space. That's the maths.

ok now I tried to send an animated gif that takes 138kb,
but can anyone guess how much space it takes????!!!!!
819kb... WHAT THE f**k, was all I could say..
And I don't think the thumb/preview picture the phone generates is 819-138=681kb!!!!
shiit.. how shitty is the filesystem they have!?!?
This is something they really should fix..
BUT I LOVE YOU T610 ANYWAY... :'(

when you take a picture with you MCA-25/20 cam on the T68i it has a good resolution. But the T68i has a bd screen and view the picture in 256 colors (gif) When you transfer the pci to the pc, you see the token picture has ectually more colors and a better quallity.
So the T68i stores the good taken photo (with good quallity) but vieuws it not so good. When you transfer it to your T610 you will see more colors but the picture is stil the same. Only the screen is better.
The both phones saves the picture without really compressing it to a worser formt than the picture is taken. The T68i just cant view the pictures not that good.
Take a photo on your PC. See the quallity, resolution and size in kbs.
Go to your screen options and set the Quality on 256 colors.
See the photo again. The resolution and size are the same, its normal. Its the same with your T610 and T68i. The only difference is the screen.
It could be that the T610 communicam takes bigger photos then the MCA-25/20 does.

ooooohhh just got some info about this..
When sending images to the phone, the phone actually make a convertion to a fileformat that the phone can handle. So it stores the original and the copy in the phone.
This is for use with the Picture Phonebook, and MMS stuff.. So this happens only to images.. so nothing is wrong with the filesystem..
Sorry I screamed at you my T610
Well.. I just have to avoid sending animated gifs... Cause clearly it took ~8x the size, where still images takes ~2x..

@ Zacay:
That was exactly what I was trying to explain, only that I didn't do it that well...
Animated gifs will of course be the real killers, since the phone then has to store 160x128x2 bytes per frame. That drains memory. (2 bytes due to the 16 bit colors).
