I know this is possibly for the GPRS/WAP/etc... forum, but I really need to figure this one out:
Basically, logging on to
http://mobile.msn.com through WAP (on your phone) will give you options for Hotmail, Messenger, etc...
Well, hotmail works super fine for me, and I'm able to send mails and access my address book.
Anyway, when I try to access Messenger, it asks me to choose my service provider (they are American providers).
As I'm from the UK, I went to the HTML
http://sms.mobile.msn.com to configure my account. However, this service is for using SMS messages to access hotmail and messenger.
This is 10p per message, EACH WAY!!! What a rip-off!!
Anyway, I went ahead and am now able to access Messenger via WAP!
But that means people can also send me messages, costing me 10p a time.
I want the WAP service, but I don't want the SMS service. I deleted my account with mobil.msn.com, and now I'm only able to access Hotmail.
Why can't Messenger just use WAP without me having to sign up for those stupid texts?? I've logged on to my .net accout so I don't see why this isn't possible!?
I got no help from MSN....
The only solution is to register for the SMS service, disable text alerts (Hotmail alerts you for every piece of spam filling your inbox... for a cost of 10p each!) and disable mobile-contacting in your Messenger account.

WHAT?! so the only way you can get the wap version of messenger to work is by signing up for the sms version?
edit: As an O2 user I cant even sign up for the sms version. crappy O2....

By the way, Shiony was the MSN "Interactive Help"... great!
It's stupid that MSN only allows WAP access to Messenger for people who have signed up for a completely different service...
