Sounds silly I know, but it really needs a single app where you can make & take calls, access the address book, switch between normal and deskphone, see the calltimer and have access to a keypad, with bigger buttons.
If you don't use the flip and you are on a call, you have to mess about opening a keypad to do dtmf, or go to the phone app to end calls etc.
Would be really nice to have all of this on a single display with 1 button operation for deskphone mode, and things like that. Could even be skinnable for a nice touch.
Phone use really is a pain in the butt without the flip unless you use the stylus for everything, but when you are walking along, or in a hurry, the stylus can be a pain also.
I might have to put the flip back on soon unless someone creates a decent phone management application for the P800.

Agreed. I put my flip back, and although the style crew lin Milan where I am currently look at me with some derision, that situation is reversed when they try to make or take a call.
I find accessing all the functions is much easier with the flip on - it just needs practice.
The P800 is the best "one-hand" handheld I've ever used.
