I got my p800 a month ago and many many times other people complain to me that they can't hear me even if i'm on full signal or they say that i dont speak loud enough and i have to put the phone almost in my mouth or shout. I had no such problems with my previous nokia a 7110 so i realised this problems from the first days i got my p800. Do you think a software update will help? i currently have r1d

p.s Will the software update help my battery last a bit longer?

Look my good friend and p800 user the problem is so simple that you will laugh when I’ll tell you the solution.
First to which ear to you put the phone most of the times when you speak?
If it is the left ear listen to me carefully, the p800 has a small hole as you looking it at the bottom side to the left of the port connector.
This little hole is the microphone , as you are talking holding the phone with your left hand your palm is closing this hole so the other person can’t hear almost nothing.(you can use it as mute of the microphone if you like ,it really works)
I had the same problem to just pay attention when you talk not to close the hole or look if something had got in there and it is closing it.
Check it out and let me know if you solve the problem.
