i dunno about the t610 but with my gd-87 when you zoom in, you get the real life size of close up objects ie, how you see it with your eyes. Without the zoom its like your twice the distance away from the object so its a shame the t610 doesn't have it unless its got a better camera anyway so it doesn't need it.

as a matter of fact, the t610 camera does indeed have zoom, to use the 2x digital zoom select 'MORE->SIZE->SMALL' then you will see the 2x digitally zoomed image.

Digital zoom is useless. U'll get better results zooming your pic with any PC program.
