You can try, but I don't think it will work. I don't think the P800 hardware is fast enough to emulate a GBA....

What do you mean? The GBA has a processor faster than 200MHz?

You can't compare prossesors that way. Even if the Amiga 500 has a processor of 7mhz, you have to have atleast a 300mhz pc to emulate it flawless. It takes a lot of cpu power to emulate other machines and os's.

youll need at least a 1ghz machine or lots a ram on a 300mhz to emu an amiga game properly, especially if you want sound. Tried playing batman? Its jumpy even on my 1.2 ghz 128mb machine, Amiga rocks!!

Well its not tit-for-tat on processor speed when emulating but lets not exagerate. If you can't emulate an Amiga game on a 1Ghz P4 then something isn't right. I used to emulate Nintendo64 on my old 400Mhz P2.

Nope. I use a 350mhz Celeron/256MB Ram/GF2 purely as a Amiga emulating PC. Works great!

Hello, I'm new to this site and I was just reading through some of the old threads and saw this one.
The GBA and P800 both have ARM processors. The GBA's is an ARM7 clocked at 16.78MHz. However, there is also a hardware graphics engine which handles 2D graphics operations (e.g., sprites).
The P800 contains a Phillip's Nexperia Mobile Multimedia Processor which has an ARM9 at its heart, which is much more powerful than the older ARM7. As has already been mentioned, it has a much higher clock speed than the GBA's processor.
The Nexperia also contains a Digital Signal Processor and hardware accelerators for multimedia operations (e.g., JPEG and MPEG4 decoding). The DSP could probably be used to greatly accelerate GBA emulation.
With all this power, along with the fact that both use the same type of processor (meaning that the emulation would be much easier), I believe that the P800 should easily be able to emulate the GBA.

i hope that some nice developers show interest in making emulators for that p800 (snes, nes, sega mega drive, neogeo, gba)
