I guess most of you are aware of the PCControl program from christersson.org for Windows, and the Salling Clicker for the Mac? If you are not, these apps allow you to remotely control functions in your PC from your SE bluetooth mobile.
I am planning a similar application for Windows, but I do not want to just create a clone, there will be some unique functions as well.
This is wehere you come in - I would be grateful for your input! Do you have any good ideas on what functionality you would like to have in such an application? What functions do you want to remote control? Let your fantasy run wild!
If you send me your ideas as a
personal message, and include your email address, I will give away free licenses to the best suggestions when the software is released. Of course you can also just comment this post, or do both!
There might be betas available, if so I will post in this forum.

Come on guys, you must have some ideas?
Anyway, it would also be interesting from you that actually use PCControl and/or Salling Clicker. Do you consider this kind of application useful, or is it just a "fun thing"?

I'm a Mac user so I'm not familiar with PCControl. However, I think the best thing about Salling Clicker is that its very customisable.
Anyone can write plug-in scripts for it using the Mac OS's built-in application scripting language AppleScript. I don't know if Windows has a similar thing but essentially it means that if an application is scriptable, then you can write a simple AppleScript to control it through Clicker.
If you can do a similar thing on Windows, then you'd be onto a winner 'cos users wouldn't be limited by the functions you'd written in to it.
As far as it being 'useful' or just 'fun', I'd say it's definately useful on the whole.
It's more of a time-saver really... Not having to walk across the room to change MP3 tracks, or have e-mails read out to me from a distance, or log-out automatically when I leave my Mac are very useful.

I agree with Jooles, that is what the Windows world needs. If not AppleScript, then at least the option to perform tasks automatically when the phone comes within range of the PC.
Say you password protect the PC with a screensaver and pause any music or movies playing when you leave the PC, and then re-start these things when you come back.
These are the things I saw you could do with Clicker, and the best reason to want an SE Bluetooth phone in my oppinion.

yes! the whole proximity sensing thing is a brilliant idea! also the ability for plugins for the server ap to control additional things directly.. a vnc-over-bt would be nice- but be sure to include multi monitor support! regards.

I would like to see it the other way, that my phone displays info about my pc, so winamp playlists like the others, but also temps, cpu load and new emails... Would that be possible?
