After using my P800 for a few days I had a few questions that I thought I would ask Sony Ericsson, and it turns out they don't know much! Here are the questions I asked them, the incorrect answers I got from SE and the real answers.
Q 1: "Turn on KeyIock" has disappeared from my Options menu in Flip Closed mode. Why?
Stupid SE A: Ummm, I don't know, call us if it happens again.
REAL A: "Turn on KeyIock" is unavailable while charging.
Q 2: Why can't I receive calls/SMSs while connected to GPRS?
Ridiculous SE A: The P800 is not designed to take calls while connected to GPRS.
ReaI A: Set ControI Panel > Internet Accounts > Other > Preferred Service to Automatic (opposed to GPRS only)
It's a bit disappointing and frustrating that SE didn't know the correct answers to these simple questions. Oh well, at least I can stay connected to ICQ all day now without worrying about missing calls.

Bogus Jimmy, you are not alone. SE people don't know their own products, even the tech people sux, they only know how to sell. Don't expect any tech support from em'

Honestly, what do you expect?
I thought it was a well known fact nowadays that front line support i handled by spotty teanagers beatly able to string tegether a sentance about anything! whose ideal job would be collecting the dustbins.
istsnit unique to SE, walkinto even the like
of a Tesco supermarket, find a 5 year old manager.
goto pc world, and find a techie that knows less about pc's than ny cat!
really -- what do you expect?

Well the guy that knows the most about almost all the SE phones here in Esato is a SonyEricsson serviceman as far as I know...
(Cytech)
So at least some of them know their shit pretty damn well.
They have never failed to answer a question that I've asked them and I've asked them just about everything. Might be that I'm calling the swedish support and that they are better...

I've had my SE P800 a fewe weeks now - no real problems.
have found tech support at Sony Australia extremely variable - from downright idiotic to surprisingly overhelpful. It really depends when you phone, and who you get.
The only thing that worries me now is that they have told me to ignore "those overseas forums" that mention upgrades.Quote "The phones released in Australia don't need the upgrade" enquote.
But....in today's paper (The Australian Tues 27th) there's a review of the P800, in which it says "...the phone is easy to crash...SE has since released a software upgrade intended to rectify such issues..."
Who's should I believe? Should I be trying to organise a firmware upgrade?
