I bought a T610 on T-Mobile a few days ago which unfortunately has the hissing problem.
I've spoken to Sony Ericsson UK (who are now well aware of the problem) and they have advised me that a repair solution will be in place next week.
This is unfortunately a hardware problem and will mean sending of your phone but I was assured that the turnaround is one day.
You would first need to contact Sony Ericsson UK (08705 237237) next week for a reference number (they won't give you this till the repair process has started next week).
You then need to send your handset well protected in an envelope by Royal Mail Special Delivery to,
Celestica Telford Ltd
PO Box 80
Telford TF2 NWT
(Double check the postcode when you call SE as it is slightly wrong)
You need to only include your handset and the following,
1) A cover note with a description of the fault
2) Your phones IMEI Numer (15 digit number behind the battery)
3) Photocopy of Proof of Purchase
4) Sony Ericsson Reference Number
5) Day time contact number
6) A return address
7) List of contents sent off
Alternatively, for all you T-Mobile customers, you can return the handset to a T-Mobile store within 28 days of purchase and they will exchage it for you (providing they have hiss free handsets in stock).

I got mine from the T-Mobile store in Oxford Street (opposite Bond Street Tube Station) and my friend got his from the T-Mobile store further up the road (near The Plaza, before HMV)
They had loads of them in stock on Sunday.

Not quite a lot in Chitter Chatter as this friendly store assistant in Wood Green told me it's only 8 units in each stores and it's selling like ot cakes. They're really pushing it as I'm aware while I was inside the shop.

actually not quite true, we get deliveries 3 times a week about 10 of each phone per delivery but you have to remember we are only a dealership and one of T-mobiles best stores in performance and sales, the T610 P800 and V200 are T-mobiles top sellers at the moment for price and network improvements

I see! No wonder T-Mobile's P800 is selling at a rip-off price of GBP599.99 offline (simlocked to T-Mobile) at The Link compare to GBP499.99 offline unlocked. Do they really think this is logic?
