Dear All,

Just wanted to let you know that, having received my 128Mb Duo from p800er successfully and very quickly on 30/04/03, an envelope from FedEx dropped on my doorstep THIS MORNING(!) containing a tax bill for £26.

I know they warn of this on their site and do not wish to criticise at all, but I, as did many others, assumed I had gotten away it - and I haven't! (darn!)

So, in case anybody else thought the prices were a bit too good to be true...... they are!

Dave

Its depend on delivery. If you select Fedex, you will pay duty tax, if you select registred letter, you will pay nothing. This message was posted from a P800

I got my 128MB Duo from P800er.com, overnight shipping via FedEx... local tax laws state that any item over $100 shall be taxed... mine wasn't.

@jplacson - how long ago did you receive it? I thought I was home and dry too but the tax bill arrived 3 weeks later! Hope you don't get taxed though

@pachy - good plan but unfortunately, since I'm on the electoral roll at this address, I think I may well be entering a whole world of trouble if I tried it. Might just ignore it and see what happens though!

It aint a good idea to ignore it mate! The tax guys have their own way to calculate intrest, at least in Norway, and you end up paying intrest on intrest on top of everything. My advice? Pay the bill before the deadline. This message was posted from a P800

You're better of than I was with a unit of Bluespoon. Got a test sample from Denmark back in November 2002. Sent with DHL. I retuned the unit within 30 days and thought everything was OK.
Now in May, I received a TAX claim for 70 Euro. I have talked to the customs authorities which said that I should have returned the unit with DHL if I wanted the TAX returned.
A little too late for that. eeh.
