Coming from a blackberry, I'm having REAL difficulties with the UI of the P800.

How do you copy and paste a field from a contact, to another contact? how do you copy and paste sections or lines of text in general?

I lookup in the index at the back of the manual .. "copy" - nothing. "paste" - nothing.

If you make a change to a contact record after 'edit', perhaps by accident, because you touched the screen, how do you avoid saving that change? I wiped the end of a phone number, because the pen made a back stroke move, and could find no way to get the original record back!!

Go to edit contact> go to the field you want to copy, highlight the info you want (I use the virtual keyboard to do this), then say DONE on the keyboard, you will have the info in the field you want highlighted, then hit Edit, and the cut/copy/paste option will be there.

You don't need to click 'Done' and leave the Keyboard interface. I discovered a much easier and more efficient way. In the Keyboard interface, highlight whatever it is you need to copy. There is a small arrow at the top of the small Keyboard window. If you click that, you will get the different, Cut, Copy, Paste options. This is good because it saves the time of having to leave the keyboard interface and then go back into it.

Hope this helps

Thanks, I figured out the copy/paste from the keyboard thing using the tiny triangle a few hours after I posted.

Still havent figured out how to protect against mistaken modification of a contact record!

Apparently, if you make a mistake, just press the backwards arrow and when you re-enter the record, it should be back to how it was before you messed it up. Don't hold me to that - I read it on another forum!
