How do I tell how many characters I have left when writing a standard 160 chr SMS?
Thanks.

when you get to 140 it starts counting down for you in the top left corner

Simple!
I was sure I was nearly at the end! Obviously didn't get as far as 140.
Thanks.

Are you checking the character counter to ensure that you keep within the 160-char limit?
Or you can stop worrying, and turn on the long SMS options where your message will be truncated into multiple parts for sending.
Quite convenient for long SMS.

May I ask: On which phone(s)? Is that a documented feature? I do not remember having read that in my T39 manual.

there are many things that are not in the manual. even though the manual gives a solid and reliable impression, there are a lot of things that simply are not there.

Slightly OT.
I've noticed that I keep getting a "part missing in message" when I receive text from one person. What does this mean?
