At the moment, I don't think there are any SMS backup/view/send applications that are compatible with the P800.
I don't know if Ericsson have one for their phones, but if they do, you might be lucky and find that it works with the P800, other than that, you'll have to wait and hope that someone writes one!

What on the P800 itself? Yep you can try out SMS Folder Manager:

Personally I am not a fan, but it has a few good fetures, like password protecting you inbox, for years now I have been saying that this is a feature that should be implemented, I hate it when friends start going though you text messages...

None of the applications that work for other phones (like T68i) to view, backup and archive sms work on the P800.
You can do a general backup of everything on your phone - including the sms, contacts and everything else using the backup and restore application that came with your P800.

The S&W SMS Folder Manager is a very good application. The demo version even has the full functionality without any nagging prompts for registration. The only thing it does is limit the number of folders you can create (but who needs more than 3!!! especially if your primary purpose is separation and backup). It also limits the automove rules you can create to 2 (or 3?).
What I do is move all my SMS from the phone folder to a folder I create (I don't use the General Folder because I cannot delete it) in SMS Folder Manager and backup. I also create a corresponding XML export. All these files are automatically created by SMS FM in the D drive (or external memory). Then with the P800 File Manager desktop application I copy the files to my PC and then I can view all my SMS on the PC with the accompanying SMS Manager PC Viewer (uses the XML export not the backup).
After that I delete the folder in SMS FM and re-create it again for the next batch of SMS I would be backing up.
If at anytime yous see an SMS message you would want to use (by using the PC viewer) you can transfer the backup file back to the P800 and use the restore utility of SMS FM.

Hi there,
Does anybody know how I can access the auto setup sms files. I have very important data in one of them but it says it is syntactically incorrect so I cannot see the data.
Does anybody know where the files might be in the folder system of the P800?
