(In Swedish though...)
It says that SE will not produce anymore T68m's and T39's, the T68i will replace the T68m but for now there isn't anyreplacer for the T39... I think this is great news for us, our T68's will be worth a fortune as they are much more good-looking than the T68i
and oh, it also says that the delivery's of the T68i will start either today or early next week

I hate to say this, but I doubt that the value of the T68 will be high because its a rare model! I own a a T68 myself and as a consumer, i probably want the new t68i (cosmetics aside) instead, because of all the new features! Anyway, as proven on this forum, you can get the lunar grey covers and backs now from mail order, so if people really wanted the new t68i to look like a t68, then it wouldnt be impossible.
Mobile phones never hold their value. Even if they do for now, thats just the nature of the business. Example, the Nokia 8250 with the blue light was very exclusive, in fact it was only officially released in Hong Kong but was imported elsewhere around the globe, but when the 8310 came out, it devalued like it was a common 8210!
Hence I never pay stupid prices for mobile phones!

I Know I Know! Ive been reading the forums, but I was just trying to make my point that just because we think the T68i is ugly, it wont stop a lot of people from loving it and thinking our t68 are ugly.... its a matter of taste in the end! And remember the way consumerism works, they see a new model, they think its better!

Well now we do not have to worry about the new sw...if you upgrade your t68m with the new sw it will be less valuable...

Ray you are righ mate. Think about the implications though.
T68 much better looking
T68 in demand as most will think that phones are identicle (we assume)
T68 supply = 0
T68 is an early version, so should fall in price due to intertemporal price discrimination
T68i substitutues T68m but would face weaker demand than the T68m
My predictions are that there will be no T68m brand new in circulation after April at the latest. Any T68m in circulation would be second hand. By that time, T68i will be in the second hand markets and will compete with the T68m.
As both phones are almost identicle, but the older looker better than the latter, T68m demand should be higher, ceteris paribus. But the equilibrium price of T68i second hand will be higher. Therefore there will be no difference in second hand prices, if so will be very small.
The beauty and exclusivity of T68m will offset any intertemporal price discrimation and second hand prices should be very similar to the T68i.

OK heres the deal
One simple fact - It will be the last ever High-End Ericsson branded mobile phone so it will definitely be worth some serious Wonga.
No more Ericssons to be made so of course a collectors item.
