I just received my P800 last Friday.. The default language on the phone was UK English, so I added the USA English language .sis file from the SE website and set the phone to USA English as the default language.
Problem is, any applications I install only prompt to use UK English as the default language and not US. It would be fine, except I will use a lot of 'US' characters/symbols and it's very inconvenient.
SE wants me to send the phone in for repair, which will take a few weeks.

Does anyone have any suggestions or have any experience with this before?

Thanks,

Just stick with UK English, It is all English and you will not pretty much not notice the difference.

Have you done a hard reset of the phone? I had a similar situation, and it was fixed after a hard reset, where I removed the battery while the phone was turned on.

Yes, hard-reset the phone with no success..

SE will just put the latest US English firmware on the phone (unless there's something else).

I know there's not much of a difference, but after spending $650 US I want all of the convenience that I paid for...

I just don't want to give up the phone for 2 weeks (my only one).
