As Cytech said: Just enter the 15 first numbers...(without "-")....then it has to work:
Example:
*#06* --> 361984-00-831512-2-03
Enter: 3361984008315122

I also have this problem, most software that was working fine on my p900 is now giving me an incorrect IMEI number on my new p910!
If I do the standard #6 combo it reports the CORRECT imei, but most software is giving me a number which is completely diff and about 19 chars long! There seems to be a fault in the way the number is being read from the phone

If you buy program for your p900 and now have a p910 it will not work. You will have to buy program again, some company will let you update to new phone but you must contact them.

Most reputable developers will provide you with new codes for software purchased from them. Since you have changed your phone, it has a new IMEI, so you will need codes for all software, as these are locked to the IMEI of your P900.
Just email the companies you bought the software from and ask for a new code.
