To make it clear for some people!

API - I have no idea of real name.

So it is now out!

It is a plug for the camera, so a programmer can write software for it! I find many people thinking that they can download this thing and then install it in your phone! That wont work!

A simple way!

It is LIKE a driver!(its not!) but its almost the same as it holds the settings for the cam! What wire does what! what happens when i send this var! etc....

They say it has no video recording feature so it will never be able to record! I dont believe this because if it is possible to see a moving picture on your screen when taking a photo then it is possible to record this, just like screen capture! but a movie one!

however i just want to clear up about the API. So dont wase your time downloading it and installing it!

The CAM API would, theoretically allow someone to write a Video App, assuming the flash memory write rate is fast enough...!

Anyone out there good with video and wanna be famous???

Any free (or cheap at least) development tool.. codewarrior would be pleasant.
Someone's probably at work at this already.

API means Application Program Interface.

It's a set of function specifications so programmers can call them to access the camera features.
