I sent my T610 to Celestica on Wednesday as Sony Ericsson had qouted me a 1 day turn around to fix the hissing problem.

I've not received it back yet so I called Celestica to see what was happening and I was told they are awaiting parts that are due to arrive on Wednesday and from then on they will be able to offer a one day turnaround on all hissing T610's.

This pretty much confirms that it is a hardware and not software issue.

I just wish that SE had told me that the parts were not due to arrive till next Wednesday as I am now going to be phoneless for over a week:-(

Thanks for the post, my hissing isn't too bad, so I think I will leave it a month or two before sending mine off, otherwise it might be delayed with a big swampy mess of T610's all waiting for an upgrade!

Even if the problem originates in hardware it doesn't totally rule out the possibility of there being a software fix for it as has been suggested.

I guess though I would prefer the hardware fix so will wait for some feedback on results from the fix.

Having said that I have only noticed the hiss once when I specifically was listening for it in a quiet environment so its no big deal really.

guys

I got mine last Saturday. No Hissing. On the phone hardware stated R2C and the box/manual printed Made in China.

Maybe the eletronics/hardware for those selling in europe and asia is different.

btw did the LED on the joystick blinking while in service? Mine didn;t

@triforce- demand that they give u a courtesy fone 2 use while ur waiting. Isn't that usually the case with any repairs? No one should hafta be foneless 4a week. This message was posted from a T68i
