questions before i do it
will it delete my contacts stored on my Sim?
will doing it wrong have any side effects or destroy the phone?
are there any risks involved in doing this?

I have heard quite a bit about this 13 second trick and when I did a search all I found was people saying "do a search to find out what the 13 second trick is" but could find no actual description of it.
so... it might be useful for someone who actually knows to repeat the procedure here (please).
