We encountered exactly the same problem using a P800 on a T-Mobile network in New York city attempting to access a site we'd developed. We believe the problem is related to SSL certificate authorization on the T-Mobile network, and when we attempt the same URL using HTTP instead of HTTPS the browsing procedes normally.

That's admittedly not a solution, but that's what we've been able to figure out so far.

New customer of ETrade. Tried their WAP interface over GPRS. It seemed to be really slow although did manage to log in without problems. Although I have no comparison, the page load just seemed to take time along with some time outs for some pages. I am using a T630 for access. Speed is the issue for me.

Would it be better to use a third party java html browser to access ETrade than the WAP browser that comes with the phone?

Yes, a third party browser *may* be faster, although anything on a T6xx is gonna be a little slow. Try a smartphone, you'll be very impressed with the speed of one of those!! Something like a P-series or Series 60 would be great.
